Erasmus+ (KA2) Programako lankidetza-proiektuaren hirugarren prestakuntza-saioa, “Pintura naturalak arte eta artisautza jasangarrirako” (Plant & Paint), Greziako Volos hirian ospatu zen, 1st EPAL Neas Ionias Magnisias eskolaren eskutik. Letonia, Portugal, Txekia, Finlandia, Italia, Mendizabala (Euskal Herria) eta Greziako ordezkariak bildu ziren “Naturaren paleta: esperientzia sentsorial bat” gaia lantzeko. Mendizabalako bi irakasle eta bi ikasle izan dute esperientzia ahaztezin hau bizitzeko aukera.
Iritsiera eta hasierako eguna
Maiatzaren 11n, taldeak Volosera iritsi ziren eta Park Hoteleko ostatua hartu zuten. Hurrengo egunean, maiatzaren 12an, eskolan ongietorri ofiziala eta talde-dinamika jolasak egin ziren, eta herrialde bakoitzak bere aurkezpena egin zuen landareen erabilerari buruz. Jarraian, bi tailer ospatu ziren: kosmetika naturalak egitea, olio esentzial eta landareekin koloreztatuta. Eguna Tsipouradiko jatetxe tradizional batean afariarekin amaitu zen.
Natura, kultura eta sormena
Maiatzaren 13an, Makrinitsa inguruko Ingurumen Hezkuntzako Zentroa bisitatu zuten Pelion mendian. Bertan, landareak identifikatu eta bildu zituzten. Ondoren, gel printing tailer batean parte hartu zuten ontzi artistikoak sortzeko, eta Syrtaki dantza klase labur bat jaso zuten. Portariako herrian bazkaldu ondoren, MYRRO enpresa bisitatu zuten, eta bertan infusioak dastatu eta kosmetika naturalari buruzko aurkezpena jaso zuten.
Tailerrak eta ondare kulturala
Maiatzaren 14an, itsas gatzak landareekin paketatzeko tailerra egin zuten eskolan. Ondoren, Tesaliako Unibertsitatean, tokiko belarretatik lortutako olio esentzialen destilazioari buruzko saioa izan zuten. Arratsaldean, Lykeion Ellinidon Museoa bisitatu zuten, non kolore naturalekin tindatutako jantzi tradizionalak ikusi zituzten.
Pelion eskualdea ezagutzen
Maiatzaren 15ean, Pelion eskualdeko kultura eta natura esploratu zituzten: Agion Taksiarhon eliza Milies herrian, Mylopotamos hondartza eta Tsagarada inguruko ibilbidea gidari espezializatu batekin. Afari agurra itsaso ondoan ospatu zuten “Aura” jatetxean.
Azken hausnarketak eta aurkezpenak
Maiatzaren 16an, Voloseko Arkeologia Museora bisita egin zuten, antzinako munduan landareek zuten garrantzia ezagutzeko. Gero, parkean azken aurkezpenak egin ziren, ziurtagiriak banatu eta talde-argazkiak atera ziren. Azken bazkariaren ondoren, parte-hartzaileek etxerako bidea hartu zuten.
Voloseko prestakuntza-saioa ibilbide sentsorial aberatsa izan zen, tailer praktikoak, ondare kulturalaren ezagutza eta nazioarteko lankidetza uztartzen zituena. Esperientziak Plant&Paint proiektua aberasten jarraituko du dudarik gabe.

Reflecting on the Third Training Session in Volos, Greece
The third training session of the Erasmus+ Programme cooperation partnership (Key Action 2) project “Natural paints for Sustainable art and crafts” (Plant & Paint) took place in the city of Volos, Greece, hosted by 1st EPAL Neas Ionias Magnisias. Participants from Latvia, Portugal, Czechia, Finland, Italy, Mendizabala (Basque Country), and the host country gathered to explore the theme “Nature’s Palette: A Sensory Experience.” Two teachers and two students from Mendizabala had the opportunity to attend this unforgettable experience.
Arrival and Opening Day
On May 11th, 2025, all teams arrived in Volos and settled into the Park Hotel, where they shared the first dinner together. On May 12th, participants were warmly welcomed at the school and began with a team-building activity, followed by short group presentations on the uses of plants and herbs in each country. The day continued with two engaging workshops on creating natural cosmetics enhanced and colored with essential oils, herbs, and plants. The evening concluded with dinner at a traditional Tsipouradiko.
Nature, Culture, and Creativity
On May 13th, the group visited the Environmental Education Centre of Makrinitsa in the Pelion Mountains, where they learned to identify and collect local herbs. This was followed by a creative gel printing workshop for packaging and a short Syrtaki dance lesson. After lunch in Portaria village, the group visited MYRRO, a local tea and skincare company, where they enjoyed a tea tasting and presentation.
Workshops and Cultural Heritage
The training continued on May 14th with a workshop on producing sea salts packaged with plants, and a university session on the distillation of essential oils from local herbs at the University of Thessaly. In the afternoon, participants visited the Lykeion Ellinidon Museum, where they saw traditional costumes and fabrics dyed with natural colors.
Exploring the Pelion Region
On May 15th, participants explored the cultural and natural beauty of the Pelion region, visiting the church of Agion Taksiarhon in Milies, admiring its impressive frescoes, and relaxing at Mylopotamos beach. A guided walk through the herb-rich paths of Tsagarada village deepened their connection with Greek botanical traditions. The day ended with a farewell dinner by the sea at the “Aura” restaurant.
Final Reflections and Presentations
The final day, May 16th, began with a visit to the Archaeological Museum of Volos for an exploration of plants and herbs in the ancient world. Later, participants presented their final reflections in the park, received certificates, took group photos, and shared a final lunch before departing.
The third training session in Volos was a multisensory journey combining hands-on workshops, cultural heritage, and international collaboration. The knowledge and experiences gained will continue to enrich the journey of the Plant & Paint project.
