Durante la semana del 28 de septiembre al 3 de octubre de 2025, un grupo de profesorado y alumnado del CIFP Mendizabala LHII ha participado en una movilidad formativa en la ciudad italiana de Bérgamo, en el marco del proyecto europeo Erasmus+ KA2 Plant & Paint: Garden of the Blooming Arts, organizada por la Scuola d’Arte Andrea Fantoni.
Esta iniciativa, financiada por la Unión Europea, ha tenido como objetivo fomentar la creatividad, la sostenibilidad y la cooperación entre centros educativos europeos a través de la experimentación artística con materiales naturales. A lo largo de la semana, las personas participantes han tenido la oportunidad de compartir experiencias, aprender nuevas técnicas y fortalecer los lazos de colaboración entre instituciones de diferentes países.
La estancia ha comenzado el domingo 28 de septiembre, con la llegada de los equipos internacionales a Bérgamo y el alojamiento en el Central Hostel, donde se han vivido los primeros encuentros informales entre los participantes.
El lunes 29 de septiembre ha tenido lugar la bienvenida oficial en la Scuola Fantoni, donde cada grupo ha presentado brevemente su centro y su trabajo dentro del proyecto. La jornada ha continuado con los primeros talleres prácticos dedicados a la creación de ceras y tizas naturales (Natural Crayons y Natural Colored Chalks), una experiencia que ha combinado arte y sostenibilidad en el aula. El día ha concluido con una “apericena” compartida en la propia escuela, un momento distendido que ha permitido seguir estrechando vínculos entre los distintos equipos europeos.
El martes 30 de septiembre, el grupo se ha trasladado al entorno natural de Colle Gallo, donde la naturaleza se ha convertido en fuente de inspiración y experimentación. Allí se han desarrollado varios talleres sobre tintes naturales aplicados a la cocina italiana y a la coctelería creativa (Natural Dyes in Italian Cuisine y Natural Dyes for Amazing Cocktails), así como la elaboración de cajas personalizadas para lápices (Personalized Pencil Boxes). La jornada ha permitido descubrir la conexión entre arte, gastronomía y sostenibilidad desde un enfoque innovador.
El miércoles 1 de octubre se ha centrado en el uso de pigmentos naturales para la pintura. Tras una actividad inicial de recolección de hierbas en el jardín de la escuela, el grupo ha participado en un taller de acuarelas naturales y, por la tarde, en una sesión de Watercolour with Laura Cortinovis, celebrada en el histórico Palazzo Moroni, en la parte alta de la ciudad. La experiencia ha combinado la técnica artística con el descubrimiento del patrimonio cultural de Bérgamo.
El jueves 2 de octubre, el arte ha vuelto a salir a la calle con una jornada dedicada al dibujo al aire libre o en plein air. Por la mañana, el grupo ha realizado un recorrido por la ciudad alta de Bérgamo, plasmando sus rincones más emblemáticos, y por la tarde ha continuado la actividad en el Monasterio de Astino, donde la observación directa del paisaje natural ha servido de inspiración para nuevas creaciones.
Finalmente, el viernes 3 de octubre se ha celebrado el acto de clausura en el Fantoni Hub, en el que cada equipo ha presentado los resultados de los talleres desarrollados durante la semana. Tras la sesión final y un paseo por el jardín urbano “Garden under the Walls”, la movilidad ha concluido con una cena de despedida en la que se han compartido reflexiones y aprendizajes de una experiencia que, sin duda, dejará huella.
La participación del CIFP Mendizabala LHII en este encuentro europeo se ha convertido en una oportunidad excepcional para intercambiar buenas prácticas docentes, explorar nuevas metodologías creativas y sostenibles, y reforzar la cooperación internacional en el ámbito de la educación artística. El proyecto Plant & Paint ha continuado consolidando una red de colaboración que une arte, naturaleza y aprendizaje, impulsando la innovación y el compromiso medioambiental en las aulas europeas.
CIFP Mendizabala takes part in the European project “Plant & Paint” in Bergamo
During the week of 28 September to 3 October 2025, a group of teachers from CIFP Mendizabala LHII has taken part in a training mobility in Bergamo (Italy), as part of the European project Erasmus+ KA2 Plant & Paint: Garden of the Blooming Arts, organised by the Scuola d’Arte Andrea Fantoni.
This initiative, funded by the European Union, aims to promote creativity, sustainability and cooperation among European educational centres through artistic experimentation with natural materials. Throughout the week, participants have had the opportunity to share experiences, learn new techniques and strengthen partnerships between institutions from different countries.
The stay began on Sunday, 28 September, with the arrival of the international teams in Bergamo and accommodation at the Central Hostel, where the first informal encounters took place.
On Monday, 29 September, the official welcome was held at Scuola Fantoni, where each group briefly presented their institution and their involvement in the project. The day continued with two practical workshops focused on the creation of natural crayons and chalks (Natural Crayons and Natural Colored Chalks), combining art and sustainability in the classroom. The day ended with a friendly “apericena” at the school, providing a relaxed setting to strengthen bonds among the European teams.
On Tuesday, 30 September, the group travelled to the natural environment of Colle Gallo, where nature became the main source of inspiration. Several workshops were held on natural dyes applied to Italian cuisine and creative cocktails (Natural Dyes in Italian Cuisine and Natural Dyes for Amazing Cocktails), as well as the creation of Personalized Pencil Boxes. The activities helped participants discover the connection between art, gastronomy and sustainability from an innovative perspective.
Wednesday, 1 October focused on natural pigments for painting. After gathering herbs in the school garden, participants took part in a natural watercolours workshop and, in the afternoon, attended Watercolour with Laura Cortinovis at the historic Palazzo Moroni, in Bergamo’s upper town. The experience combined artistic technique with cultural discovery.
On Thursday, 2 October, art once again took to the streets with a day devoted to outdoor drawing or en plein air. In the morning, the group walked through Bergamo’s upper town, capturing its most emblematic corners, and in the afternoon, continued the session at Astino Monastery, where the natural landscape served as a source of inspiration.
Finally, on Friday, 3 October, the closing event took place at the Fantoni Hub, where each team presented the outcomes of the workshops. After a short walk through the urban garden “Garden under the Walls”, the week concluded with a farewell dinner full of reflection and shared experiences.
Participation in this European meeting has become an exceptional opportunity for exchanging good teaching practices, exploring creative and sustainable methodologies, and strengthening international cooperation in the field of arts education. The Plant & Paint project continues to consolidate a collaborative network that brings together art, nature and learning, fostering innovation and environmental awareness in European classrooms.
